WHAT WE BELIEVE

The historic Catholic faith received by the Church.

The Anglican Catholic Church confesses the Holy Trinity and proclaims Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Our faith is grounded in Holy Scripture and received within the historic teaching, worship and order of the undivided Church.

The Holy Trinity

We believe in one God revealed as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the Holy Trinity worshipped and confessed by the Church.

Jesus Christ & Salvation

We confess that salvation is given in Jesus Christ and that the Church is charged to proclaim the Good News of His saving work to every people and nation.

Holy Scripture

We receive the Old and New Testaments as the inspired and authentic record of God's revelation: revealing who God is, His saving activity and His moral will for His people.

The Catholic Creeds

We receive the Apostles' Creed, the Nicene Creed and the Athanasian Creed in the historic sense in which they have been held by the Catholic Church.

Holy Tradition

We honour the ancient Tradition of the Church witnessed by the early Catholic bishops and doctors, especially the teaching of the Seven Ecumenical Councils of the undivided Church.

Communion of Saints

We believe in the communion of all faithful Christians, both living and departed, united in Christ.

The Blessed Virgin Mary

We honour the Blessed Virgin Mary as the Mother of our Lord and God Jesus Christ, while worship and adoration belong to God alone.

The Prayers of the Saints

We believe the prayers of the saints in heaven support the faithful on earth, just as Christians on earth pray for one another.

Sanctity of Human Life

We affirm the sacred dignity of innocent human life from conception and reject the intentional taking of innocent life.

Christian Moral Witness

The Church is called to live faithfully under God's revelation, receiving Scripture not only as doctrine but as instruction for righteous Christian life and good works.
